Planning & Operations
Here are a few items to help you plan and schedule your dive charter:
Payment Policy:

20% deposits are required 30 days after booking and is
NON-REFUNDABLE.

If trips are not pre-paid, organizers are responsible for collecting
all outstanding payments and are due before boarding.
Payment method shall be cash (or equivalent).
Other methods to be prearranged with Abyss Dive Charters
prior to arrival.
Receipts are available upon request.

Checks or money orders accepted for pre-payment and deposits
-
Credit cards are not accepted.

Refund Policy:
-
Deposits are non-refundable.
80% of the fully paid booking will be refunded if written
notice is received within 14 days of the scheduled trip.

ABYSS Dive Charters reserves the right to cancel at any time at a
full refund.

Cancellation
due to misconduct will NOT be refunded.

If waves are 4 foot or more, the captain and the organizer must
agree to cancel the trip.
Organizers may request a refund or they can reschedule at a
later time at no charge.
A fee of $300.00 will be
forfeited to cover expenses of boat preparation and captain travel
if organizers refuse to reschedule.
Wave height will be determined by listening to the local NOAA
broadcast 15 minutes before scheduled departure time.
No refunds will be awarded when the waves are less than 4
foot. A delay in the
charter departure time may occur to allow waves to drop below 4
foot.
Operations Guidelines:

Divers planning to dive below 130 feet must show proof of
insurance for those depths and show appropriate training records,
and certification cards which demonstrate skill level.

All
divers must be prepared to show training records dive logs, and
certification cards.

Dive Master and/or captain have the ultimate say as to whether a
diver has the experience, equipment, or training to perform a
specific dive.

Double tanks and technical gear will be allowed when approved by the
captain for targeted or technical trips.
Recreational trips should use typical recreational gear.

A cooler will be supplied for food & beverages.
No personal coolers allowed.

Alcoholic beverages prohibited on board.
-
No illegal drugs.

Regardless of air capacity, or equipment, divers must honor the
predetermined dive time maximum for all dives.

Divers should have first tank assembled prior to boarding.
Divers should be ready to enter the water upon arrival at the
first dive site.
-
Divers MUST respect weight and capacity limits of each vessel.
Carry-on gear should consist of only things necessary for
that day of diving.
Redundant
or extra equipment is discouraged.
Small “save a dive” type kits are acceptable.
Divers with too much equipment may be asked by the captain to
remove unnecessary equipment.

Personal O2 devices are encouraged.
Boarding:
˝ Day booking leaves at 8:00 am, returning at approx. 12:00 pm.
Full Day Booking leaves at 8:00 am, returning at 12:00 noon for a one
hour lunch break, leaving at 1:00 pm, returning at 5:00 pm.
Targeted and Technical trips leave at 8:00 a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m.
Please note: These times may
vary. Confirm departure time
with an ABYSS staff member 24 hours prior to the trip.
The captain may announce different arrangements due to weather,
or other circumstances without notice.

Divers must be ready to board the boat ˝ hour before departure time.

Gear must be assembled prior to departure.

Divers should be partially suited up prior to departure
